[MGT] (Operations) When You Fail to Plan, You Plan to Fail: Why You Need a Strategic Plan to Safeguard Your EMS Agency’s Future
Date & Time
Friday, January 24, 2025, 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Raphael Barishansky
Description
Many EMS agencies - whether they are career or volunteer, municipal or commercial - are mired in the “here and now”, paying little attention to the future. Rational, well planned and thought-out strategic plans - with input from all levels of your EMS agency - can help make the future less frightening and put EMS agencies on the right road for success. Development of the vital components of a strategic plan - a SWOT analysis, a mission statement, a vision statement and identification of goals and objectives as well as implementation tips - will be reviewed. Relevant examples from real world EMS issues - including MIH implementation, transitioning from a volunteer agency to a combination department as well as volunteer recruitment and retention initiatives - will be presented and analyzed from a strategic perspective.
